Abstract

The present study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of demineralized allogeneic bone with bovine BMP(BMP for bone induction ; demineralized allogeneic bone for solid biologic mold) in fabricating the neo-osseous flap.
In experimental group, the femoral vessel of S.D. rat was positioned between two demineralized bone slabs, and bBMP(2mg) was introduced between the implants. This model was compared to the control groups, which has been implanted with
demineralized
slabs only or autologous iliac bone segments, using histologic and microangiographic methods. After 3 weeks, the experimental group showed consistent bone formation and neovascularization.
Although the general macro-and microscopic findings of bBMP reinforced grup were inferior to those of autologous bone with regard to bone regeneration, our findings supports that allogeneic bone with BMP could be the substitute for autologous
bone
source in creating a prefabricated neoosseous flap.
